Fantasy of Flight-Uncle Mark's Day

We were on our way to meet the Nardin's and we couldn't believe our eyes.....4 trucks drove by loaded down with oranges, down "Orange Street". Needless to say, it was a Kodak moment for tourist in Florida.

Yea......we finally met up with our tour group and added a new member..."Smilin Jack". He was dressed to a "T" and what a hoot!

He was more than happy to pose for a picture!
Perfect day for ICE CREAM!

This was an amazing place. They had a tram that took you around to the different storage buildings and there was warehouses, after warehouses of old plane pieces where they rebuilt the old planes. Wow.......racks of motors, propellers, wings, (I'm not explaining this too well, but for an airplane enthusiast, this would be heaven.....Uncle Mark enjoyed it)

Our flight on a biplane was a thrill even though Sharon and I got a little sickie!

We made it back alive!

Vacation 2009

It is going to take a while before we recuperate from this vacation.....financially and our energy level. I need another vacation to get well BUT it was so worth it. We left Thursday afternoon and drove to Bilouxi, Mississippi and on Friday, we spent a little time on the beach before hitting the road again to drive to Florida. The kids were really great in the car. Well, sorta, Jase got sick after being in the car for about 2 hours but he only had that one episode and he seemed to be doing okay after that. He did have a bad cough and nasty nose but he was trooper. We called pediatrics and they said to give him honey for his cough and IT WORKED! The kids loved the beach.

I think we spent $25 to rent this sand buggy and used it for probably about 10 minutes and we got bored with it quick. Made for a good picture though! Ha

Our original plan was to not get wet but someone with shorter legs didn't have a chance or meeting that goal.

Awe....there is nothing like the beach. So nice!!!! God is a wonderful creator!

Microwave Corn on the Cob

I've said it once, I'll say it again, I have the best neighbor in the whole wide world. She taught me how to make microwave corn on the cob and it is delicious (pictures don't lie...look at Cassandra and Jase....they love it). You basically cut off the majority of the shucks by cutting both of the ends, then lay on top of a paper towel and microwave for 10 minutes. Then, it's perfect, when peeling off the remaining part of the shucks, the corn silk comes off real easy along with it. Smear on your butter, salt and pepper and call it a meal ;-) Yummy!
Little nibbles all over this poor ear of corn. He ate a lot!
No doubt about it, they are my kids since they love corn as much as I do ;-) I've corrupted them!

New Schools, New Friends

Well, the kids will begin new daycares on Monday, June 1. Cassandra will be headed to the Texas A&M University "Becky Gates" Children's Center and Mr. Jase, Big Boy himself, will be going to the A&M Methodist Weekday School.

Cassandra attended a 2 hour orientation yesterday and I had to sit in. She was having so much fun and didn't want to leave. I think they said their ABC's about 25 times, I think I even knew them before I left there. She can't wait to go back on Monday. Later that day, as we were checking out of All God's Children Daycare, Mrs. Heather asked, are you going to miss us and Cassandra said, "No, I don't like this school anymore". I was embarrassed but what can I say, she was telling the truth. It was time to move on.
So, today, I thought I'd go by and meet Jase's teacher and also let Jase get to look around and get a feel of what is going to go on this coming Monday. Big Sister, went with us, to help her brother with the transition. Jase's teacher was so nice. I'm looking forward to working with her.
He gets to take something to sleep with, so, Nemo gets to go to weekday school, too!
Then, get this, he already has a girlfriend. We were not there more than 5 minutes, and this little girl starts hanging around him, he lets her hold Nemo and then the next thing I know, they are hugging each other. How cute is that?
I think the transition is going to work out just fine!

YEA....we can go swimming now

What is wrong with our kids? They love to swim so much, it's crazy. I think they would have stayed outside all day today if I would have let them. They just really love swimming.
Not to mention to have her "Sissy" come over and swim with her.
And then this little fellow just cracks me up. He says, "he wants to go scuba diving" (not swimming). He is so adorable.

Do you think we need to invest in purchasing Jase's own set of scuba diving equipment instead of using ours which is way too big for him? You have to admit he looks like something that landed from out of space.

The rest of these pictures are just too cute for words! Enjoy and Happy Memorial Day! Thanks service men for serving our country and giving us so much freedom!!!!

The Dance Rehersal

Whew.....now we can say, "we've been there and done that". What a night. Cassandra enjoys watching the other girls dance, even while she is on stage. (see movie clip below). On one song, she does a little bit better, but she definitely is watching them to make sure she is following along and not messing up. So, I guess it's better than just standing there with stage fright. Anyway....we had fun and the MCM dance studio really put on an entertaining night. We really enjoyed watching the other dancers. They even had "Daddy's" dance with their daughters in one song. It brought tears to my eyes. It was so sweet to see those Dad's step up to the plate and dance in front of an audience. I was impressed! I hope some of you can come and watch her recital on Sunday, it should be entertaining. There will not be any camera's or video recorders allowed during the recital. So, I'm pretty sure this will be the last of the dance pictures for this year. Cassandra had a lot of fun and enjoyed the experience.
